Why Senandung Tempo

A different approach to watch care

Magnification-Level Inspection

Every component is examined under magnification before any decision is made. Nothing is assumed serviceable without verification.

Written Documentation

Each watch enters with a written intake examination. Observations, decisions, and completed work are documented and returned to the owner.

Horological-Grade Solvents

Ultrasonic cleaning uses only horological-grade solutions, appropriate to movement type, not general workshop chemicals.

Multi-Day Rate Observation

Reassembled movements are regulated and observed across multiple positions over several days before being returned — not tested for an hour.

Owner Consultation

Particularly for heritage pieces, key decisions are discussed with you before work proceeds. Your preferences guide our approach.

Conservation Mindset

We do not refinish or alter what should be preserved. The character of a well-worn watch is respected, not erased.

Get in Touch

Is it time for a service?

Bring your watch in for an initial examination at no charge. We will assess its condition and discuss what the work involves before any commitment is made.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

How long does a movement overhaul take?
Most movement overhauls complete within three to five weeks from intake. This includes the disassembly, cleaning, parts assessment, reassembly, and multi-day rate observation period. Complex calibres or those requiring sourced components may take longer, and we will communicate this clearly at intake.
Do you work on all watch brands?
We work with Swiss and Japanese mechanical, automatic, and hand-wind movements across a broad range of references — from everyday wearers to collected vintage pieces. We do not service quartz electronic movements or smartwatch hardware.
What does the Heritage Programme involve?
The Heritage Programme is designed for watches of particular significance — family heirlooms, vintage references, or pieces forming part of a long-term collection. It combines full movement service with conservation-minded case attention, gasket renewal, pressure testing, and, where appropriate, sourcing of period-correct components. Timelines typically run twelve to eighteen weeks depending on parts availability, and the owner is consulted throughout.
Is an initial assessment charged separately?
An initial examination of your watch is conducted without charge. We assess the movement's condition, note current rate behaviour, and discuss what a full service would entail. A written estimate is provided before any work is agreed.
Do you offer water resistance testing?
Yes. Water resistance testing and gasket renewal is included as standard in full movement overhauls and the Heritage Programme, and is available as a stand-alone service for watches that have recently been opened or where seals are due for renewal. We use pressure testing equipment appropriate to the watch's original specification.
How should I bring my watch in?
We ask that you bring the watch in its box if you have it, along with any papers or service history. This helps us understand the piece's background. You are welcome to call ahead or send an enquiry to arrange a convenient time for drop-off.
