Mont Kiara, KL — Movement Overhaul

I brought in a 1984 Seiko King Seiko that had been sitting in a drawer for about twelve years. The intake process was thorough — Rashdan made notes, took photographs, and explained what he expected to find before opening anything. The watch came back running within about three seconds a day, which I didn't think was possible given how long it had sat. The documentation they included was more detailed than I'd anticipated. Would return for future service without question.

Petaling Jaya — Bezel Insert Service

My Rolex Submariner had a bezel that had become very stiff — clicking through positions was difficult and the insert had faded badly in patches. I was told by another workshop that the insert was unavailable, so I had low expectations. Senandung Tempo sourced a correctly specified insert and rebuilt the click mechanism properly. The feel is now what it should be. The cost was fair and the turnaround was just under two weeks.

Bangsar — Heritage Programme

My father's Omega Constellation from the 1960s went through the Heritage Programme. I was consulted at several points during the sixteen weeks it was there — once about an unexpected crack in the cannon pinion, once about the dial condition. Nothing was done without my agreement. The photographs they provided of each stage were genuinely moving to look at. The watch now runs well and still looks entirely original. That mattered to me enormously.

Damansara Heights — Movement Overhaul

Good work and a professional process. The initial assessment was clear — they found some mainspring fatigue I hadn't expected — and the written estimate before proceeding was appreciated. The service took about four weeks. The only thing I'd note is that the workshop is by appointment, so walk-in visits aren't always possible. Worth calling ahead. The rate performance has been solid since collection.

Ampang — Bezel Insert Service

I had an old dive watch with a bezel insert that had chipped at the pip. Several places told me nothing could be done. Senandung Tempo examined it, explained what replacement would involve, and completed the service within about ten days. The insert fit is correct — it doesn't rattle or sit unevenly, which apparently isn't a given with aftermarket parts. They used the right specification. Very satisfied.

Shah Alam — Heritage Programme

I inherited a Longines pocket watch that had been converted to a wristwatch at some point in the 1940s. It's not valuable in a market sense, but it was my grandfather's. The Heritage Programme was the right choice. The team took care to understand the watch's history and consulted me before any decision about the dial. Fourteen weeks in total. The watch keeps time again, and it hasn't been polished into something it never was.

Detailed service accounts

Case Study 01

1972 IWC Calibre 8541 — Movement Overhaul

Completed: March 2025

Challenge

The watch had not been serviced in at least twenty-two years. Rate variance was erratic — gaining approximately forty-five seconds per day in some positions, losing in others. The crown felt gritty and the winding action was heavier than expected.

What Was Done

Full disassembly revealed dried lubricants throughout and significant wear to the keyless works. The mainspring was renewed, keyless components cleaned and replaced where necessary. The Pellaton winding mechanism received particular attention. Water resistance testing showed the original gaskets had deteriorated completely — all renewed.

Outcome

Rate settled at plus four seconds per day in vertical crown-up position after five days of observation — within specification for this calibre. Winding action is smooth. The owner noted that he had not expected the watch to perform this well given its age.

"I had resigned myself to keeping it as a display piece. It running again is something I hadn't allowed myself to hope for."

— Watch owner, Bangsar South

Case Study 02

Vintage Rolex GMT-Master — Bezel and Movement Programme

Completed: February 2025

Challenge

A 1967 GMT-Master had been incorrectly serviced previously — the bezel click spring had been replaced with a non-specification part and the insert was loose. The movement was also overdue for service, running approximately sixty seconds fast per day.

What Was Done

The click mechanism was rebuilt with a period-correct spring. The insert was re-seated with proper adhesive. The movement received a full overhaul under the Heritage Programme scope — with the dial and hands reviewed but left untouched, as they were in original condition. The owner agreed with this decision.

Outcome

Bezel action is now crisp and consistent across all 120 positions. Movement running at plus two seconds per day. The watch retains its original patina and all its original components. Total programme duration was sixteen weeks including parts sourcing.

"The previous workshop had clearly used whatever spring was to hand. Senandung Tempo found the right one, and I could tell the difference immediately."

— Collector, Kuala Lumpur

Case Study 03

1950s Omega Seamaster — Heritage Programme

Completed: April 2025

Challenge

A family Seamaster had suffered water ingress at some point — traces of moisture were visible beneath the crystal. The movement had seized and the crown was corroded. The family wished to preserve the piece without altering its appearance.

What Was Done

The movement was carefully disassembled with particular attention to moisture damage. Corroded components were assessed — some could be cleaned and saved, others were replaced with period-correct alternatives sourced over approximately eight weeks. The crown was replaced with a matching original. Dial and hands were cleaned, not restored.

Outcome

Watch returned to service after eighteen weeks. Rate within four seconds per day. The family was provided with a full photographic record and written documentation of all components renewed. The watch's original character was entirely preserved.

"They kept us informed throughout — every decision was discussed. Receiving it back still looking like our grandfather's watch was everything we'd hoped for."
